According to a recent Football FanCast poll, a large majority of Liverpool fans want youngster Harry Wilson to see out his season-long loan spell at Derby, with Jurgen Klopp and co resisting the temptation to recall the in-form winger.
Wilson has been on fire for Frank Lampard’s side in the Championship, and he stepped his level up once again with two goals in Derby’s 2-1 win over Swansea on the weekend.
His first against the Swans was a 25-yard thunderbolt that flew off his now famous left-foot into the back of the net, leaving goalkeeper Erwin Mulder with no chance.
Wilson has also netted a number of free-kicks this season, including a brilliant knuckleball style strike in the Carabao Cup against Liverpool’s rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.
It’s not often a player performs so well on loan that they are immediately brought back into the first team, and it seems fans are against what would be a stunning turn of events.
Reds fans clearly feel that the decision to send him away for regular playing time was a good one from Jurgen Klopp, and 84 per cent said that they wanted him to stay with Lampard for the season.
