According to Mark McAdam of , Leverkusen are keen on securing Ferguson’s services along with several other Premier League clubs including West Ham United. Despite signing long-term extensions with the Seagulls in November 2023, Ferguson has struggled to secure regular minutes under head coach Fabian Hurzeler and there is a belief that the striker needs more consistent playing time to reignite his career.

Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso confirmed that Victor Boniface, the club’s 24-year-old star striker, is nearing a transfer to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia that is expected to exceed €50 million (£42m/$52m). The Nigerian forward has been a crucial figure for Leverkusen since joining from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise 18 months ago for €20 million (£17m/$21m). Over his time at the German club, Boniface has amassed an impressive 29 goals and 11 assists in just 49 appearances. However, his impact has been limited in recent months due to a hamstring injury sustained on international duty in November, and he has not featured since.
