It is never enjoyable to see a footballer get injured, but it seems that plenty of Southampton supporters were relieved to see Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane limp off at the weekend.
The England international, who is Spurs’ top scorer with 24 goals in all competitions this season, appeared to twist his ankle during Sunday’s 6-0 thumping over Millwall in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
It is unclear how serious the damage is, but there are concerns that it is similar to the ankle problem that kept Kane on the treatment table for 10 games.
Even if the striker is not ruled out for a lengthy absence, he may still be forced to sit out of this Sunday’s encounter in the Premier League.
Given that Kane is the division’s joint top scorer alongside Everton forward Romelu Lukaku, it is understandable that some Southampton fans are relieved by the injury blow.
Plenty took to Twitter when they realised that Spurs might be without their leading man for the Saints’ visit to White Hart Lane.
