Mesut Ozil has never played for Arsenal in a match at St James’ Park, but Saturday’s trip to the North-East will be the 29-year-old’s very first and the club’s fans are excited about the prospect of him delivering a good performance.
Ozil posted a photo on Twitter of himself in training on Wednesday with the caption, ‘Away trip to Newcastle is already in sight,’ suggesting he is ready to get his season going after a difficult start under new manager Unai Emery.
Arsenal travel to Newcastle United with their sights very much set on a third consecutive victory in the Premier League but they will need their star player to be at his very best if the Gunners are to pick up only their third away win of the year.
Ozil’s future at the club came into the question this week when the former German international was linked with a possible move to Turkish giants Fernerbahce in January.
