According to , Palace submitted an offer of £28 million ($36m) for Inter defender Bisseck, who made 46 appearances last season. However, both the Italian club and the player rejected the proposal. The Nerazzurri have placed a valuation of at least £34m ($43m) on the German centre-back and are not actively seeking to offload him.

The 24-year-old’s refusal effectively ends Palace’s hopes of bringing him to the Premier League. His decision to stay puts an end to any short-term defensive overhaul at Inter, who still have Alessandro Bastoni, Benjamin Pavard, Stefan De Vrij, Francesco Acerbi, and Carlos Augusto at their disposal. The Nerazzurri remain open to selling fringe defender Tomas Palacios, who is not in coach Christian Chivu’s plans.

Bisseck's ability to play across the backline – centre, left or right makes him a valuable asset to Inter’s defensive depth. If Inter were to lose Bisseck, Genoa’s Koni De Winter is their main replacement target. The 23-year-old Belgian defender is valued around €25m (£21m/$27m) and is also being pursued by Bournemouth. The Cherries have already lost Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid and are now set to lose Ilya Zabarnyi to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Eagles may now have to look elsewhere to strengthen their defence. Inter, meanwhile, will continue talks to sell Palacios and monitor De Winter in case any of their current defenders leave later in the window.
