Soon-to-be England boss Thomas Tuchel has reportedly held talks to replace Gareth Southgate as the head of the League Managers Association.

Tuchel was announced as England's option to replace Southgate as the Three Lions' head coach a few months back, with it revealed that the German would take over at the start of 2025. has now suggested that Southgate could be replaced by the former Bayern Munich coach in another position.

The Sun claims that Tuchel has already discussed the position with the League Managers Associations and will meet with chief executive Richard Bevan to go over the specifics when he begins his tenure as England's manager in January.

There has been much criticism of Tuchel's choice to postpone beginning work by nearly three months following his October appointment. Nonetheless, the 51-year-old's readiness to accept the LMA position has been interpreted as a sign of how highly he values English football.
