Tomas Rosicky’s improved performances for Arsenal over recent weeks are set to be rewarded with a new contract, with the midfielder’s agent confirming that an extension is close.
The Czech Republic international has put in excellent showings against Tottenham, Liverpool and AC Milan in the Gunners’ last three games, with Arsene Wenger down to his bare bones in midfield.
Earlier in the campaign it was thought that Rosicky would leave the Emirates, however agent Pavel Paska has revealed that negotiations are at an advanced stage.
“We have moved forward in our talks and neared a final agreement but we still are going to discuss certain things,” the representative told CTK, translated to English by Sky Sports.
Meanwhile, Robin van Persie’s agent has supposedly welcomed reported interest in the Netherlands international from AC Milan.
The Dutch marksman is one of Europe’s in-form attackers, but his contract will expire in the summer of 2013.
According to the Italian media, the Serie A champions are ready to make a move for Van Persie, and the player’s agent is open to negotiations.
“AC Milan want Van Persie? Very good! We can talk about it,” Jeroen Hoogewerf is reported to have said by Tuttomercato, translated to English by Sky Sports.
