Following their remarkable Olympic Gold Medal win in Paris, U.S. women’s national team head coach Emma Hayes has already revealed that she has much bigger plans for the entire system. The former Chelsea boss, who won multiple WSL titles with the Blues, has her sights set on redefining and refocusing the entire women’s football ecosystem in America. To do so, Hayes set up the Futures Camp in January, which ran simultaneously with the senior team’s training camp.
That was showcased in the latest episode with U.S. Soccer, where Hayes revealed that this was just the first step in a long term plan that she has for the players and the future of the USWNT.

The former Chelsea boss was appointed as the new head coach of the USWNT in November 2023 but only began her tenure in May 2024. Despite that, Hayes prepared the team and led them to an Olympic Gold Medal in under 75 days, a feat that many thought was impossible given the short time period. Since then, the team has only grown from strength to strength, as the team ended 2024 with just one loss to their name, going unbeaten since Hayes took the reigns.
