Others, though, feel that a defensive midfielder and striker should be next on the list, providing that Felipe Anderson and Fabian Balbuena finalise moves to the London Stadium.
The club, who hired Manuel Pellegrini as David Moyes’s successor in May, have already brought in Andriy Yarmolenko, Jack Wilshere, Ryan Fredericks, Lukasz Fabianski and Issa Diop.
