Slot succeeds Klopp at LiverpoolSalah, 32, helps Reds beat Ipswich 2-0Egyptian can play for "many more years"WHAT HAPPENED?
Salah showed just how good he can still be with a goal and assist as Liverpool secured a 2-0 win at Premier League new boys Ipswich Town on Saturday. Even though he is 32 and is in the autumn years of his career, Reds boss Slot – who succeeded Jurgen Klopp earlier this year – believes the Egyptian international can still play for a long time yet.

The Dutchman said: "If I see what (Salah) does to keep his body as it is to be ready to play every game, then I think there are many more years inside of him to play. But I’m looking now at Brentford (the next game) and not at the end of the season! I don’t believe in individuals, I believe more in the team. Mo can score goals because of good runs from other players, or because of buildups from the team. So I think Mo also needs the team."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Salah, who set a new record by becoming the top scorer in Premier League opening-day matches with his strike at Ipswich, is out of contract next summer. While he may not be the player he once was, the former Roma star still netted 25 goals in all competitions last season and losing him would be a huge blow for Liverpool.
